8.7 Processing Emergency

If there is an emergency that you can’t handle yourself, call

If the staff is not available, please call

GTPD (404-894-2500) and tell the operator your location
- Marcus Nanotechnology Building: 345 Ferst Drive
- Pettit Microelectronics Research Center: 791 Atlantic Drive

In the case of a cleanroom alarm emergency, evacuate the cleanroom immediately and report to the designated rally point. Do not ungown or logout of the cleanroom. Staff will collect cleanroom suits at the rally point and log users out of the facility. Do not leave the rally point until an IEN staff member/EHS personnel tells you that you can leave.

Misc. Information

Accidents happen, but the more informed you are the better you will be able to handle any situation.
If you see another user using unsafe practices in the lab, ask them to follow proper procedures. If you are not comfortable talking to the user or if they do not correct their behavior, please notify IEN staff.
You should review your plan before starting in the lab and plan for possible outcomes. Preparation is one of your best tools.
