For new users accessing the facilities, the modified training procedure is as follows:  

• Attend the virtual New User Orientation 
• The next orientation will be available on 8/25/2020 at 10am. Please sign up on SUMS.  
• Take the Cleanroom Entrance Test 
• Take the Cleanroom Safety Test 
• Watch the FumeHood training video 
• Take the Fume Hood Test 
• Complete the Radiation Safety Training
• Watch the “Returning Safely to Your Lab” videos. The six-part module will include what you can expect, recommended safety precautions, cleaning and disinfection best practices, and proper use and disposal of PPE, among other helpful tips for best ensuring your safety and the safety of others.  To access the video: 
  • Log in at https://training.osp.gatech.edu/. 
  • Click “My Online Classes” in left menu. 
  • Select the first item: “Returning Safely to Your Lab.” 
  • In “Available Courses” – click “Returning Safely to Your Lab.” 
  • Click ‘Enroll Me.’ 
  • There are six video segments — when finished with each segment, go to the menu on the left side of the screen to start the next video. 
  • After segment six, click Quiz in the menu and follow next steps to record that you have viewed the videos. 
• Read through the guidelines displayed on the IEN Re-Opening Plans and Procedures page. 
• Study the infographics and revised layout of the Inorganic, Pettit, and Bio-Cleanrooms located on the page. 
• Watch the Gowning Procedure for COVID-19 video 
• Take the laboratory protocol online test to gain access to the cleanrooms. 
• Watch the SENIC – Social Implications of Nanotechnology Research Video 
• After the researcher demonstrates adequate knowledge of IEN Cleanroom usage and safety, the researcher will receive access to the facilities.
